Summer Sunday

Summer is not only a season, it is a 'mind-frame' is it not?  C'est vrai?  Second only in longing-for to spring, because seriously, we all need spring after long and grey, cold and wet winters.  I love the fall, and I know a lot of people that do as well.....I do not know anyone at-all that longs for winter.
(Now that would just be crazy.)

Our kids are still in school.  It is July 2nd.  We are now in 'pay-back' for all of the 'vacances' that they get during the school year.  So they finish on the 5th.  We are impatient.  Although we live mere minutes walk to the beach and we go year around, until 'les garcons' are officially finished with school my mind-frame cannot fully transition into carefree, sun loving, sand between the toes, ice-tea glass in hand summer...mode.

As well, my mind is a-jumble with how to balance working at home, brocanting on the weekends and being busier than ever while juggling 'les trois enfants' and trying to provide them with the full summer vacation school-less, glorious days they think they deserve... which they do.  Sorta.

 Oh goodness.

(le sigh).......

I am also overwhelmed with excitement about new directions and opportunities for Sunday Brocantes and so thrilled with the new people I am constantly meeting in doing this career that I adore!

One such person is Marie.  She has a new shop in the next town over and her eye and style just blows me away.  I am so excited to be working with her....I cannot resist anything in her shop!

In fact, thanks to the 'irresistible factor' I have a gorgeous 18th century wood chandelier hanging in my dining room that was a gift from 'French-Guy' for our 17th wedding anniversary last April!

And she showed my these extraordinary figurines ....

Made in the 1700's as a childs toy to play-act theatre scenes......  LOVE-at-first-sight!  Crazy-obsessive-vintage-love-at-first-sight!  I was gone at "take a look at these..."  If you are equally smitten, contact me for the details and the price!

Isn't her shop wonderful?!  And she is lovely too!

Hope you had a great summer-Sunday!  And summer for me?  Despite how long it is taking to arrive?  Is going to be f-a-b-ulous!  Just wait and see!

A bientot!
