Goodness! Wednesday already! Is it me or is this summer just ticking away!? We finally got our sun and now it seems like I am always running from one thing to another with not enough time to get things done each day! I had all of these visions of a busy and fulfilling summer of garden projects, maybe some painting, lots of writing and even more photo projects and a few days squeezed in at the beach in between the 9-5 work juggle--which turns out to be not so 9-5... (actually 9-5 would be a breeze!) "Summertime" should really be the perfect balance between summer and time-- to be able to do it all! ~ C'est vrai?
This past weekend we went to two brocantes and I was so pleased to find great things---more wonderful things for the shop, and a few really fun things for me! (Bien sur!)
Remember when I was saying that I had to find that table for the garden? Well I did! You may have already seen the pictures posted on Facebook... but here it is! I love it--it was exactly what I hoped for--vintage, metal, white... a little chippy and a little rusty... and well within my budget so I was able to buy five folding park chairs to go with it.....so all in all, the table and chairs for just around $50 USD. The chairs even have painted numbers on them--which I love! (The table was only 25 euro and the chairs- 5 euro each!)
For the shop I re-stocked on white vintage linens. Every few weekends I see my favorite gal for linens at the weekend flea markets. I get all of my torchons from her and this past weekend purchased gorgeous 'European' sized pillow covers; some with monograms and some with simple pretty edges. I just listed them today! Take a look!
I also bought a few more vintage 'cafe au lait' bowls, and I am expanding the collection blue and white and reds with a few bright greens and some yellows too! They are so pretty stacked on a shelf and most are in perfect shape to still use!
And finally, a few more things that I was so lucky to find! I have been searching for a folding plate rack... actually a metal one--but found this rustic wood one that is so fabulous! A huge 'boulangerie' basket and several baguette baskets along with a small sifting tray.....
Hope you had a great and fruitful weekend too!
A bientot!
Sure looks like life is pretty sweet for you Sunday Brocantes!!
